Blastlab Science Experiments

Thomas has been keen to try some experiments out of his Blast Lab book. He chose the one about boiling up red cabbage, then changing the colour of the purple water by adding different things (vinegar, bicarb, washing powder, lemon juice). It worked really well, he was thrilled. We also discovered that if you add nappysan then the water turns green at first, then changes to yellow later - magic! I also had the excuse to buy myself a bunch of white roses to put in different vases with food colouring to see the petals change colour :-)

Bunya Mountains

We just spent a lovely weekend at the Bunya Mountains. We stayed in a house called - Bunya Paradise, which had wonderful views. We would stay there again! Our friends Aaron and Annette and their kids and Annette's parents came too. They stayed in a different house, but we had a lovely time having afternoon tea together, and letting the kids play.

New Years Day

New Years Day and we have had the Blakeneys and Herse families over for the day. It was lovely to all catch up again. I think all the kids were a bit tired by the afternoon!! So much lovely food - spectacular chocolate cake care of Evelyne :-)

Christmas

We have had a lovely Christmas. We spent 3 nights with my family, and then 2 nights in Dalby with Stephen's parents. We have had a busy few days at home and New Year celebrations. I think we are all ready for a quiet few days.

Sports carnival

Mark had his sports carnival on Thomas' birthday. It is the first one he has had, as his Prep one was rained out and last year we were in Tassie. He was thrilled to be going. Must admit as a parent not that fun to watch, as they did not give ribbons to the kids who won etc, and the races were so close together, you often did not even know who had won. Mark's house came third by one point.... He had fun though. I got sun burned for the first time in years!!

Thomas is 6!

Well our little Thomas turned 6 on Friday. He unwrapped his pressies in the morning and had pancakes for breakfast, then it was off to school. I baked him some cupcakes to share with his class, but did not join him in his class that day as Mark had his sports carnival that day too. We went to Mc Donalds for dinner and let the kids play. The next day we had a picnic in the park with some of Thomas' friends. It was a very windy day and a bit cold as a result. The kids had fun though. We had a treasure hunt near the waterfall, and made paper planes to fly in the crazy wind. Stephen's family came home with us for lunch. Marion stayed with us for the night. It was a busy day!
What can I say about our little man this year? He is still a very fun loving, easy going, delightful little guy, who plays really well. He is still very emotional when something goes wrong, and can scream like he is dying when he sustains even a minor injury! He likes to play lego - especially building Hero Factory guys - he still likes the good guys best. He also likes his Beyblades. He has been doing well at school, and is very well behaved. He is now reading a bit. His teacher says she would be happy to have a whole class of Thomas'!! He is also our food monster, and loves chocolate, lollies, etc.. He also likes salad and pickled cucumbers which the other kids won't touch. He is starting to be more interested in sport and likes tennis and soccer at the moment. He is still our snuggly little boy. We love you Thomas!
